We were discussing AI…moreThe impetus for writing the book stemmed from a conversation I had with my brother, an oncologist like my main character, Henri. We were discussing AI and automation and the implications of a future where there simply aren’t very many jobs available. He said, “people will just have to work harder to make sure they make themselves indispensable in the economy, the way I have.” I then pointed out to him that in 20 years AI will be making much better medical decisions than him.
